Back in the saddle… again!

It’s amazing how easily we let things in life derail us. Learning to be a mom has been an interesting balancing act. Slowly things are starting to fall into place and I’ve been able to get in a few yarn projects. This share is a rose accessory based on the “Brier Rose” frim “Anticraft: Knitting, Beading, and Stitching for the Slightly Sinister.”

Halloween Pumpkin Treat

Can you believe that Halloween will be here in just two more weeks?! Soon it will be Thanksgiving, and then Christmas! My 4-year-old son decided earlier this year that he wanted to be Captain America for Halloween. He was very excited when he saw a costume while shopping and asks every day about it and his new shield … can’t have Captain America without his shield!

My share today was inspired by Twila over at StampALittleLonger. I made a small change and made the pumpkin using the 2-3/8 Scallop Circle Punch (#118874). I also added a strip of paper to give it a box like effect. It will fit up to three Hershey nuggets. I stamped on whisper white cardstock the “EEK!” image from the Holiday Mini set, It’s a Wrap Holidays ([W] #122770, [C] #122772) and then wrapped it around a nugget. Hershey has guidelines in place for the use of their candies in this way. Therefore, The wrap is not adhered to the candy and can slip right off.

I hope you enjoyed my share today! I’ve got a couple more in the works so please stop back by to check them out.

Inky hugs,
Inkabella

Cute Halloween Bottlecap Magnet

I can’t believe is October already! What’s more its the 2nd week! So I’m quickly trying to catch up on sharing some things I’ve been working on. As noted by my lack of posts, I’ve been a very busy girl this year. The adoption finally went through and I am now legally a mom! Every day is a learning experience, but my cousin (now son :D ) makes it worthwhile.

But enough chatter and time for a share! So I got a large order of bottlecaps with no real idea of what to do with them. Here is idea #1 … a magnet!

This cute guy was made using the stamp set Batty For You (#116576). I stamped him in Concord Crush (#119785) and punched him out using the 1″ circle punch (#11986). I adhered it into the bottlecap using Crystal Effects (#101055) and also used it to adhere down the googlie eyes. Once it was fully dried, then I added the Crystal Effects until it was level with they eyes and left it out to dry.

I love how this turned out! I’m planning to make a few more using some of the other images in the set and give them as gifts to my co-workers.

I hope you liked my share!

Knit Project – Using SU! Embellishments

I’m happy to share my first cross-post with my Everything But The Ink blog. I enjoy many different crafts and I got to use my Stampin’ Up! embellishments in a non “paper craft” project.

My niece’s birthday will be here in just a matter of weeks and I have been trying to decide what to make/get her. After some discussions with my sister-in-law, we decided that she would really love a painted pewter figurine. In addition to this, I decided to knit her a small pouch, which I would place the figurine in.

This is the pouch I created.

I used worsted weight yarn in “Turqua” by Red Heart yarn. The button is a Stampin’ Up! button in Baja Breeze. Unfortunantly it is a retired product. However, we have many great buttons that are current and a button in Pacific Point or Tempting Turquoise would have gone beautifully with it. I will need to add more buttons to my collection for my next project.

I hope you enjoyed my share!

Baby Shower Invite

My cousin is having another child and I was asked to create an invite for her shower.

There are several cute ideas out there for onsies, just google for a onsie pattern and you’ll see what I mean. :)

I actually tried several ideas, even created another card prior to this one. But with the amount of work that went into it, I decided that it would be better for me to use it as card to my cousin after the birth of her child. I decided to go with a basic pattern and came up with this!

You can find the tutorial for this at http://splitcoaststampers.com/, but if you look at my card I bet you could figure out how its made without the tutorial. :)

This card is also a bit of a hybrid. The paper is from the Patterns Designer Series (Item #117158) in Pear Pizzazz. The first card I made, I didn’t want the other side of the pattern to show through, so I used My Digital Studio to print out a sheet of the paper on our white cardstock.

These invites are to be mailed, so I didn’t want to add any extra weight. Otherwise I’d have embellished it a little more with some brads at the bottomt to look like snaps, etc.

Thanks for letting me share!

Fall Royal Blog Tour

Welcome to my Castle! I hope your journey so far as been fun and you’ve enjoyed the wonderful treats the other Princesses have shown you.

I have four projects I will be sharing with you, each using the set Merry Crittermas, which can be purchased from the Holiday Mini Catalog.

I thought long and hard about what kinds of things I wanted to make for you. I wanted them to be things that could be easy and quick to make. Thats when I thought, why not make small items that can be used as stocking stuffers, treats for co-workers, small gifts that your child can give to their teacher, etc.

The first project I have for you can fit all three of the categories. What I’ve made for you a small gift card which holds inside a lip balm!

This is versatile and the lip balm can be replaced with several things, such as lip gloss or a small pack of gum. Here is a view of the inside of the card:

The next project I created for you are these adorable triangle treat containers. Let your imagination have fun deciding what to place inside these.

The third project I came up with is a bookmark made out of a 4 inch silver paperclip. Super easy and fast to make.
Here is a close up view of each of the clips.

Do you like those bookmark-paperclips? Well then great because I’m giving them away as Blog Candy!! Just post a comment and be sure to leave me your email address to be entered into my giveaway. I will be randomly choosing a winner which I will annouce on this blog after the Tour! And I will ship overseas!

Please note, if you fail to leave your email address I cannot contact you if you win!

For those of you who feel uncomfortable with leaving an email address in a post, you can write your info like this: yourname at emailaccount dot com

I hope you’ve enjoyed your visit and the treats I’ve prepared for you. Please step back on the carriage and it will take you to the next castle on your trip. Safe Journey and please be sure to visit again!
